How does FHM charge?

Typical repair shops charge what is called flat rate.  This is a pre-determined amount of time that the manufacturer says it will take to complete a task.  This amount of time is generally an overestimate and the actual amount of time it takes to complete the task is far less than what you are being charged for.  Here at FHM, we only charge customers for actual productive shop time.  This is the actual amount of time that was spent on a machine.  This translates into the owner saving money and having a peace of mind knowing that they were only charged for what was actually done to their machine.

How does FHM estimate?

Here at FHM, we use the average flat rate time that other shops use for a service to estimate.  This is a general guideline that is used industry wide.  But at FHM, if we don’t use all that time, the owner of the machine doesn’t get charged for it.  They are only charged for the actual time spent with their machine.

What is FHM’s shop labor rate?

FHM’s standard shop labor rate is $57 per hour.

FHM’s mission for quality

FHM prides itself on the quality of its services.  All machines that are serviced at FHM will be fixed correctly and not just patched to get it out the door.  We want our customers to be happy with their services the first time.  This means….

  • If their is an electrical issue, all other components will be check for proper operation before a component is replaced.
  • If there is a broken wire, it will be soldered and heat shrunk tubed to ensure the issue does not return.
  • If there is a safety related item that needs repair or replacement, the owner will be notified of the issue and correction of it will be discussed.
  • If the carbuerators are taken apart to be cleaned, they will be bench tested for leaks and synced upon replacement to ensure all cylinders are operating at the same speed.
  • 2 stroke engine rebuilds will be leak down tested to ensure the fuel mixture does not lean out.
  • All vehicles will be test drove to ensure proper operation.  ( Unless vehicle does not meet minimal safety standards. )

This is our mission for quality and a promise to you, the customer.

FHM’s repair process

  1. The repair process starts with FHM diagnosing the machine and compiling a list of services that will need be performed to return it to proper operation standards.
  2. The owner will then be contacted with a estimate of what it will cost to repair the machine and the timeline for completion before any repairs are performed.
  3. Once authorized, FHM will perform the repairs and any other services requested.
  4. After completion, the owner will again be contacted to notify them of the completion of the repair and to schedule a pick up time.

FHM’s service guarantee

FHM stands behind its services and guarantees all work against defects.  If there is a problem with any service, we want to hear about it.  Our mission to quality cannot improve without your input about our services and your experiences with FHM.

Please call 763-274-8465 with any questions or concerns you may have.  We would love to hear about it.

We do not guarantee defects in parts that are purchased from outside sources.  Those complaints will have to be filed with the manufacturer of the parts.  We also do not guarantee vehicles that are neglected, beat on or do not meet minimal safety standards.  An example is if you were holding it wide open for 10 miles and it blows up, we will not guarantee it and all we have to do is look at the piston to see what happened.
